Rate Grid is a type of Rate Discount available on NightsBridge. It that allows you to discount your rates for specific dates and room types - providing more flexibility.
When to use a Rate Grid discount
As with any Rate Discount type, the feature allows you to discount your RACK rates (set up in seasons) for specific lengths of time.
Once you've determined the applicable date range, opening the Rate Grid allows you to enter a percentage to discount your rates. The grid is what makes it a unique - it provides the ability to discount your rates for specific dates on certain rooms.

Here is an example:
This property as availability for two weekends in January in their more luxurious room types - Honeymoon Suite, King Suite and Presidential Suite. While the other rooms types are generally well booked, we want to increase the chance of bookings specifically for these three room types and only on these two weekends.
In this case the Rate Grid can be used to set this up.
Usage examples
- Decrease your rates during periods when your occupancy is low to encourage more guests to book with you.
This is a form of Yield Management or a variable pricing strategy that is used to maximise revenue. - Temporarily discount select upcoming weekend rates without adjusting your RACK Rates
How do the adjusted rates display on the NightsBridge booking form?
Active Rate Discounts will always display within the 'Available Rates' section and provide the following:
- the applied discounts name
- the % saved for that day
- the original price with a strike-through
- the new discounted rate
Rate Grid discounts and your connected channels
Once published, by default NightsBridge will send these Rate Grid discount rates to all your channels as BAR rates.
This means that the channels that receive the rate may not specifically display a discount on their own channel listing for your property when using a Rate Grid Discount because they're only going to receive one rate from us for any given date. They do not know whether or not you have discounted your RACK or STO rate.
Booking.com specific
- Booking.com will not accept a Rate Discount when you use the Rate Grid discount type.
- Booking.com will process a Rate Grid discount from NightsBrdige as an update to your standard rate on Booking.com.
To send a discount to Booking.com, always use one of these discount types:
- Basic
- Early Bird
- Last Minute
BEWARE of 'Stack Pricing'
'Stack Pricing' or double-discounting can occur on Booking.com. This could lead to bookings where discounts are applied to already discounted rates.
