Verification is necessary to allow you full control over your Google My Business listing through your profile.
Claim your listing (if you haven't yet):
If you haven't yet claimed your business or do not know if you need to, Google provides a step-by-step guide on how to get access and start managing your listing.
Need to check to see if your listing has already been claimed?
You are able to check to see if it's verified by simply trying to create a new listing on Google. Click here to open the listing creation page.
Type your business name in and it will check to see if the listing has already been claimed.
What if the listing is already claimed?
If the listing has already been claimed and verified, you will see the above message and you will be able to request access from the former "primary owner".
Verify your listing:
If you've recently created a your Google My Business listing, you may still need to verify it.

If you've bought the business from someone else, click here for information on how to request ownership of the listing.
The following methods can be used to verify your listing:
We do not recommend choosing the "Verify by postcard" option as some users have reported that it takes too long to arrive.
Verify your listing by phone.
1. Sign in to Google My Business
2. Choose the business you want to verify.
3. Go to VERIFY >> Click on your phone number.
4. Get your verification code by answering the automated call to the number, or per text to the number.
5. Enter the code provided on the call or in the text on your listing to verify.
If verification by phone doesn't appear as an option for you, you'll need to verify your listing by email:
1. Sign in to Google My Business
2. Choose the business you want to verify.
3. Go to VERIFY >> Select Email from the list.
4. Follow the instructions in the email you will receive.
